Two people have been shot dead at Virginia Tech University, the site of one of the worst massacres in US history.
A campus police officer was killed following a routine traffic stop and a second victim was found in a nearby parking area, according to the school. It said the suspect fled on foot and is still at large.
In 2007, a mentally ill student killed 32 people and wounded two dozen others before committing suicide on the rural campus.
