The new Sherlock Holmes movie is an action-packed thriller – which is no surprise as it is directed by Guy Ritchie, best known for excessively violent gangland yarn Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
The title role is played by Robert Downey Jr and Moriarty is played by Jared Harris of Man Men fame. Also look out for Rachel McAdams, Jude Law and Stephen Fry. Glamour was supplied by Swedish actress Noomi Rapace.
Critics have been divided about the film, many having reservations about the popcorn treatment of the original books. But everyone agrees that Robert Downey Jr shines.
