There is more gloom on jobs in Spain. The unemployment figure rose in November for the fourth month in a row up nearly 1.5 per cent on October.

The vast majority of the 60,000 extra claimants came from the service sector as Spain’s crippling recession kept customers away from shops and restaurants.

Spain’s quarterly unemployment rate is 21.5 per cent – the highest in Europe.
