Chile's Nicanor Parra wins Cervantes literary prize

Chilean poet Nicanor Parra has been awarded the Cervantes Prize, the Spanish-speaking world’s highest literary honour.

The 97-year old’s work, dubbed ‘anti poetry’, mixes colloquial language with traditional verse. He published his first collection of poetry in 1937.
