DSK gives his version of the 'truth'

A book out this week quotes the former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn saying his sexual encounter with a New York hotel maid was “consensual but stupid”.

The biography written by French writer Michel Taubmann also contains conspiracy theories including the suggestion the maid was in his room to steal Strauss-Kahn’s mobile phone.

“What I show in the book is that Nafissatou Diallo did not come to the room to clean it up. Secondly, the Blackberry of Mr Strauss-Kahn has disappeared and thirdly a rape attempt was a set up, probably to try and neutralise Dominique Strauss-Kahn, as boss of the IMF,” said Taubmann.

DSK’s version of the truth has been contested by Diallo but one thing is clear: Strauss-Kahn admits his actions cost him the French presidency.

That is something which no doubt his wife, Anne Sinclair, will reflect upon in her own book out next year.
