Political analysts Bahgat ElNadi and Adel Rifaat, known under one name as Mahmoud Hussein, are unequivocal in their opinions towards Egypt’s military. They insist that the army leaders who took control of the country after Hosni Mubarak was ousted must now hand power to the people. That, they say, is the first condition that needs to be met before holding free elections. The vote held on Monday is, in their eyes, just a “diversion”.
