Unemployment in Britain hit its highest in 15 years. The number of young people out of work topped the politically sensitive one million mark for the first time since comparable records began in 1992. The figures took the unemployment rate among eligible 16 to 24 year olds to 21.9 per cent for the three months to September.

Employment minister, Chris Grayling put the blame on Europe, “These figures are bad news,” he said, “they are the consequence of what we are seeing in the eurozone.”
