FARC name a new hardline leader

Colombia’s FARC guerrillas have appointed a hardliner nicknamed Timochenko, as their new leader. He is said to have trained in Russia and Cuba is thought to be more ruthless than other rival commanders.

His appointment follows the killing by Colombian forces of his predecessor earlier this month.
