Israel’s military claims to have responded to a rocket attack from Palestinian militants. They launched an air strike at what they described as a ‘terror activity centre’ in the Northern Gaza Strip.
The Israelis say a policeman was killed. Palestinian medical officials said the strike hit a Hamas naval base.
Hamas is the Islamist group that controls the Gaza Strip and Israel holds it responsible for any cross-border rockets fired.
