Public frustration at Greek politicians

One analyst says that Greece is going through its worst moment since the military dictatorship was overthrown 37 years ago. On the streets of Athens ordinary Greeks have been reacting with frustration at the lack of progress on the political front.

One man said, “we’re never going to find out the name of this new prime minister. Unfortunately we’re not going to make sense of this, the politicians are making fun of the people”

This woman was clearly disappointed that the politicians can’t agree given the circumstances.

“If you think a bit more you don’t expect just a name, you expect much more. It’s the least we’re interested in, the new name. We are in serious trouble and I hope that…’s not only a matter of a name.”

Meanwhile this man seemed unsurprised by the behaviour of the politicians.

“What I think is that the political system, and especially the two big parties and the way they are acting these past few days, explains the point we have reached as a country.”
