Nicaraguans stick with Ortega

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega looks certain to be reelected in the country’s election on Sunday.

The leftist former Sandinista commander has the support of Nicaragua’s poor majority as well as the backing of his left-wing ally the Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

Latest polls give Ortega 48 per cent of the vote.
