Israeli President Shimon Peres says the world is moving closer to taking military action against Iran to prevent it developing nuclear weapons.
Speaking on Israel’s Channel 2 TV, Peres said Iran is near to obtaining atomic weapons and that intelligence services of various countries are warning their leaders that time is running out.
Protesters shouted anti-western slogans in rallies in Tehran on Friday after the US, France and the UK vowed to keep up the pressure on Iran ahead of next week’s report from the UN’s International Atomic Energy Authority.
It is thought the report will shed more light on a possible military side to Iran’s nuclear programme.
On Friday a US military source said Iran is the biggest threat to the United States and its allies in the Middle East.
