Hundreds of animals have filled the centre of Madrid, marking an age old tradition.

The so-called transhumance is an ancient custom in which sheep and cattle have been moved from one part of Spain to another during the dry season.

Although now normally a celebration, this year farmers used it to call for more grazing rights.
