Serie A still on hold At the Policlinico hospital in Milan the mother of Italy forward Antonio Cassano was one of a handful of concerned visitors.
The striker was rushed to the hospital on Saturday evening from the airport. The AC Milan team had just arrived from their 3-2 victory against Roma.
Reports in Italy suggested the player, who helped Milan win last season’s scudetto could hardly talk or move.
An official statement from the club said he was taken to the hospital after being struck down with a mystery illness and was undergoing a series of checks.
The striker looks set to miss his clubs trip to Belarus for Tuesday’s Champions League Group H clash with Bate Borisov.
