Hollande officially named as presidential candidate in France

The Socialist Party has officially announced that Francois Hollande will be its candidate in next years’ Presidential election in France.

Last week he won the party’s second round of primaries beating Martine Aubrey.

Hollande is expected to take on current President Nicolas Sarkozy, who he is leading in opinion polls.
