He had been hiding with his father and, like him, he is now dead.

Mo’tassim Gaddafi, the late Colonel’s National Security Advisor, was also captured alive but bleeding in Sirte. The circumstances of his death remain unclear. His body was taken to Misrata where people were said to be lining up to take pictures of it on their mobiles phones.

As for the dead dictator’s most high-profile son and heir apparent Saif al-Islam, initial reports said he was in hospital after being shot and wounded. It was even claimed he, too, was dead. But later, sources said he had escaped Sirte and was still on the run.
