Bolivia welcomes road protester heroes

A two-month long protest march against plans to build a road through a rainforest reserve has ended in La Paz.

Thousands of people turned out to give the 1,000 indigenous Amazonians a heroes’ welcome as they walked into Bolivia’s main city.

The government says the road will boost economic development but adds it is now prepared to talk.
