Lawyers for Michael Jackson’s physician, Dr. Conrad Murray have dropped a central defence claim that the pop singer gave himself a fatal dose of the powerful anaesthetic propofol.

The surprise move in Murray’s involuntary manslaughter trial comes as the prosecution continues to accuse the doctor of gross negligence.
