Eight runners up from the nine qualifying groups now know who stands in their way of reaching next year’s finals in Poland and Ukraine.
Group E runners up Sweden earned automatic qualification as the best second placed team.
Bosnia, who were denied top spot in group D by France on the final day, were drawn against Portugal who go into the tie as slight favourites.
Elsewhere Group A runners up Turkey will lock horns with Croatia who finished second in Group F behind 2004 champions Greece.
Ireland, whose only appearance at a European Championship came in 1988, will fancy their chances of making next year’s finals as they were pitted against Estonia while the Czech Republic face Montenegro.
The first leg of the playoffs take place on November 11 and 12 while the decisive second leg is on November 15.
