The written and video questions came in from all over the world and covered a wide range of topics including the economy, social issues, EU institutions and enlargement, the Arab Spring and the Middle East peace process.
Barroso calls the European Union “the most beautiful project in history” but admits he would like to see faster progress in dealing with Europe’s current debt crisis. He also urges European leaders to “assume their responsibilities” rather than blame all their national ills on the European Union.
