Kazakhstan suspends Communist Party

In Kazakhstan a court ruling has suspended the activities of the Communist Party for six months.

Its leaders claim the action has been taken because they joined with the Alga party who have been fiercely critical of the country’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The suspension means the parties could be excluded from a probable early parliamentary poll.
