Amanda Knox says she is looking forward to normal things like seeing her old friends now she is back in the United States. After four years in an Italian jail, the 24-year-old arrived in Seattle on Tuesday evening.
On Monday she was acquitted of murdering British student Meredith Kercher, who was killed in her Perugia apartment in 2007.
During an emotional press conference Knox said: “What’s important for me to say is just to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who has believed in me, who has defended me, who has supported my family. My family is the most important thing to me right now and I just want to go be with them.”
Although her family are happy she is back, the question of who did murder Meredith remains unanswered. One man, Rudy Guede, has been convicted in connection with the murder.
The Italian prosecution teams says it will appeal the decision to free Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.
