World’s first fax tax levied in Denmark

Denmark has introduced what is believed to be the world’s first, ‘fat tax’.

Pizza, meat, cheese, butter and processed foods that contain more than 2.3% saturated fat will be subject to the new levy.

Supermarkets reported empty shelves as consumers stocked up on their favourite foods ahead of the price hikes.

Others said they’ll just start buying more food abroad.
