Tonga produced a superb display to stun France 19-14 in one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history in Wellington on Saturday.

Despite a poor performance from les Bleus, this result still sees Marc Lievremont’s men advance to the quarter-finals.

Elsewhere, England also progressed to the knock-out stages after edging out Scotland 16-12 at Eden Park while Australia held their nerve to secure a comfortable 68-22 win over Russia in Pool C at Trafalgar Park in Nelson.
