Brazilian underwear model in sexism row

A sexy lingerie ad campaign starring Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen has been labelled “sexist” and “stereotyped”.

The star parades in her underwear while asking her husband if her mother can move in.

In another ad, the scantily-clad model informs her man that she’s maxed out their credit cards.

The commercials tell viewers “You’re a Brazilian woman – use your charm.”

The lingerie company insists the ad was created in good humour.

But women’s right’s campaigners say they’ve complained to advertising regulators.

“I think it’s funny,” said Salvador resident Carolina Brito. “I don’t agree with the message, but I think it’s more funny than offensive. I am more against censorship.”

Other fans of Bundchen also approved of the ads:“I think that these days there is no sexism. We live in a very liberal world,” said law student Luana Mesquita.
