Six Britons charged with terrorism offences

Six men have been charged with terrorism offences by police in Birmingham, central England.

The six suspects will appear in court in London later on Monday.

Four are charged with preparing an act of terrorism, while the two others are charged with failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism.

It is alleged two of the men made a martyrdom video ahead of a planned suicide bombing campaign.

The arrests come more than six years after the London terror attacks that left 52 people dead when suicide bombers struck the city’s transport network.

British police have made anti-terrorism operations a priority since 9/11. Officers have made nearly 2,000 terror-related arrests since the attacks on the Twin Towers, including more than 650 over the past two years.
