There are clear signs of the increased army presence in southeastern Turkey.
It comes after six police officers were killed by Kurdish seperatists who attacked their station with rocket launchers, according to the security services.
Eight people were injured. Three attackers also died.
The attack happened in the province of Siirt and comes at a time of heightened tension between PKK rebels and the government.

On Thursday, a radical Kurdish group said it was behind a bomb attack that killed three people in Ankara. Three officials were killed in two other, seperate attacks during the week.
There is talk of a ground incursion against PKK camps in Northern Iraq.
