The photo of the swimming baby became an iconic image of the 1990s the moment it was released.
And now the album that goes with the famous cover has reached a milestone itself.
It is exactly twenty years since Nirvana produced their iconic disc “Nevermind” – heralding the arrival of grunge rock.
“It was such an amazing record that had such a huge impact on so many peoples’ lives and obviously the tragic aspects of the band’s story have only intensified the interest,” said Keith Cameron from Mojo magazine.
Even after two decades, it is clear the music still has the power to enthrall. Fans flocked to a venue in London for an evening dedicated to the band, listening to a remastered version of the album.
Released on September the 24th 1991, “Nevermind” catapulted Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from a cult band to spokesmen for their generation. Cobain committed suicide in 1994.
