Kelly Slater has continued his surfing dominance by winning his fifth Hurley Pro at Trestles title.
Slater maintained his lethal form throughout the final day, with a consistent display of new-school airs and patented carves, securing his 48th elite ASP world tour victory, and third of the season.
He had fought a hard battle against young gun Owen Wright, who has continued to build momentum over the year. He beat veteran Australian, Mick Fanning, and his compatriot, the rookie prodigy Julian Wilson, to make it to the final, before Slater proved just too strong.
This is the third consecutive time the pair have faced off in the final sparking a clear battle for this years AFP title.
