As Euro2012 creeps ever closer co-hosts Poland and Ukraine continue their race against the clock to be ready in time for UEFA’s flagship event.
On Monday delegates from the four Ukrainian host cities visited Warsaw and its National Stadium on the first of a five-day trip to compare notes and progress with their fellow tournament organisers.
One Ukrainian official said: “For me, as a person who is responsible for logistics, it was interesting to see hoe the logistics work here. For instance you can host the Euro but you also need to know how to ensure means of transportation, organising cleaning, fire safety. For me it was the most important because it is better to see it for oneself rather than being told about it several times.”
Warsaw has the honour of kickstarting the Euro 2012 party on June 8, while Kiev wraps things up with the final on July the first.
