Japanese trade minister resigns over gaffe

The Japanese Prime Minister’s new government has suffered a blow after just eight days in office.

As Yoshihiko Noda visited tsunami and quake-hit zones, news broke that his trade minister, Yoshio Hachiro, had resigned.

This after Hachiro reportedly joked with a journalist about radiation from the devastated Fukushima plant.
