Mass protest in Cairo's Tahrir Square

Protesters have returned en masse to Tahrir Square in Cairo.
Demonstrators organised a day of action to demand a more transparent process towards democracy. They also want an end to military trials for civilians.
The ruling military council is promising elections by the end of the year, but many remain sceptical about the pace of reform.
The rally comes only weeks after ousted President Hosni Mubarak went on trial. This week judges summoned the military rulers to appear in court and be questioned.
Mubarak is charged over the killing of protesters during the uprising that led to the collapse of his regime in February.
Clashes have taken place outside the court during demonstrations against the holding of hearings behind closed doors.
