There has been a double bomb attack on a government compound in the city of Quetta in southwestern Pakistan.

Officials say at least 13 people have been killed and 28 have been injured. Many of the victims are soldiers.

A car bomb exploded, opening a breach in the compound’s perimeter wall, allowing a suicide bomber to enter on foot and detonate his device.

Pakistan is enduring a wave of suicide attacks, thought to be the work of local Taliban militants linked to al Qaeda.
