Rafael Nadal took a turn for the worse after his straight set victory over Argentine David Nalbandian at the US Open.

Journalists were asked to leave his press conference after the Spanish defending champion slumped and slipped down from his chair, apparently in agony.

The world number two was crippled by cramp in his leg but was on his feet ten minutes later after receiving treatment.

The match itself finished 7-6, 6-1, 7-5. Nadal will now face Gilles Muller of Luxembourg.
