Irish Catholic Church hid child abuse in 1990s The Vatican has rejected accusations from Ireland that it had tried to cover up child sex abuse by its priests.
In July the Irish parliament passed a motion accusing Rome of “undermining child protection frameworks”.
The Vatican says it was “sorry and ashamed” for the abuse but that accusations of interference in Irish law were “unfounded”.
