The first bodies have been found in the search for survivors of a plane crash in Chile
However it is thought unlikely anything other than bodies will be taken form the sea near the Juan Fernandez islands to the west of Chile. 21 people are thought to have perished, including one of the country’s best-loved television personalities.
Tributes have been pouring in for Felipe Camiroaga who was leading a team of five journalists flying in to film reconstruction on the islands, hit by a tsunami following Chile’s earthquake last year.
The plane crashed after two unsuccessful attempts to land on the island’s tricky runway, being blown sideways in high gusting winds and squally rain.
At the television headquarters in Santiago people have been laying candles, and the president has spoken of the nation’s loss.
