The England, France and Japan squads were welcomed by cheering fans and a haka as they arrived in Auckland on Wednesday ahead of September’s Rugby World Cup.

Martin Johnson’s men, the 2003 World Cup winners now have 10 days to acclimatise before their first game against Argentina.

France will face hosts New Zealand, Japan, Canada and Tonga in group A while Japan, who have won just one World Cup game in their history, will be relying on their new national team coach, John Kirwan to improve their style of play.

The tournament gets underway on the 9th of September with New Zealand facing Tonga at Eden Park in Auckland.
