Rocket fire from Gaza hits Israel - and Egypt

Palestinian militants have fired more rockets into Israel today, prompting threats of retaliation in escalating cross-border violence.

There were no reports of casualties there or in Egypt where two rockets from the Gaza Strip landed at Rafah. An Egyptian security source said it seemed they were fired in error.

On Saturday, a rocket strike from Gaza killed an Israeli man in Beersheba.

The bloodshed began on Thursday when gunmen Israel says came from Gaza killed eight Israelis near the Red Sea resort of Eilat. Subsequent Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have killed at least 15 people, according to medical sources.

Palestinian officials today said dozens of members of Hamas, which governs Gaza, have been arrested by the Israeli army in the West Bank.
