Collapsed stages at a Belgian music festival have left at least five people dead. Two of the platforms apparently buckled after being hit by trees uprooted during a violent storm. High winds and heavy rain also flattened tents.
About 60,000 people were at the Pukkelpop festival in the town of Hasselt, about 65 kilometres from Brussels.
The town’s mayor said 40 people were injured, seven of them seriously. The remainder of the festival has been cancelled.
