At least 14 people have been killed in a series of attacks in southern Israel.
The attacks appear to have been coordinated and reportedly targeted a passenger bus, a private car and a group of soldiers.
In the bus attack, gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying civilians to the Red Sea resort of Eilat.
Security services then chased the assailants before opening fire on them.
Israeli military radio reported that seven civilians and seven gunmen had been killed.
At least ten of the bus passengers were hurt as one witness explained.
“I was just talking to a guy sitting next to me and we suddenly heard shots and we immediately bent over and that’s it, pieces of glass were flying, and we realised some people were injured,” the woman said.
Hamas rejected suggestions by Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak that it carried out the attacks.
