Serena Williams is back in the swing as she makes her way into the final of the Toronto Cup. The former world number one, who returned to the tour in June after 11 months on the sidelines through injury and illness, put out fourth-seed Victoria Azarenka from Belarus 6-3 6-3.

Williams is moving closer to her dominant best just in time for the US Open, which begins at the end of August.

Serena plays Australian Samantha Stosur in the final after 27-year-old pulled off a three-set win against Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2 5-7 6-2.
