Dutch number one Robin Haase won his first ATP singles title on Saturday, defeating Spaniard Albert Montanes 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the final of the 2011 Kitzbuhel Cup in Austria.

The 24-year-old, who broke his opponent’s serve five times, was appearing in his first ever ATP final.

Haase became the first Dutchman to win an ATP title since 2004.

The 30-year-old Spaniard had won five straight championship matches at the US$645,000 (450,000 euro) clay court tournament after losing the first four.
