US President Barack Obama is 50 today.

His debt battle with the Republicans behind him, he celebrated with singer Jennifer Hudson and supporters at a 2012 campaign fundraiser in Chicago.

“When we are working together and we are joining hands, black and white and Hispanic and Asian and Native American and gay and straight; when the American people join together, we cannot be stopped,” he told an audience of 2,400 at a music auditorium.

“We say to ourselves: ‘Yes, we can.’ It does not matter how tough a week I have in Washington because I know you have got me, you have got my back.”

A new tie from the president’s personal tailor was a birthday gift to a waxwork Obama in Hollywood.
