world news

It is reported the man who has confessed to the twin attacks in Norway nine days ago demanded that the government resign and King Harald V abdicate.

Anders Behring Breivik, who is being held on terror charges following the deaths of 77 people, had

refused to tell officials any more about the attacks.

NRK radio says the 32-year-old’s demands were turned down and he eventually cooperated.

This week, two psychiatrists will begin assessing whether Behring Breivik is legally insane.

Meanwhile tributes continue to be paid to the victims of the attacks across Norway. At the Giske summer music festival on Saturday, around 20,000 red hearts were lifted into the air by music fans.

Torhild Tonnesen Haugnes, one of the teenagers who attended the Labour party youth camp on Utoya island, took to the stage to tell how she survived the massacre.
