The tragic events in Norway and the wider risk of far right extremists is this week’s big story on Europe Weekly.

In the search for answers the EU Council called an emergency counter terrorism summit to discuss the threat posed by such groups and so-called ‘lone wolf terrorists’. We went along to see how, if at all, authorities aim to prevent such attacks in the future.

The humanitarian crisis in the Horn of Africa also dominated this week’s news agenda with Brussels increasing its financial aid to nearly 160 million euros.

The situation for some 12 million people remains dire after one of the worst droughts to hit the region in decades. Despite extra funding, the relief effort remains complicated because of on-going conflicts.

We also report on the recent Burka ban in Belgium, speaking to one woman directly affected by the new law, and take a look at the recent violence on the border between Kosovo and Serbia. That is all this week on Europe Weekly. To watch, just click on the link.
