Post mortem due on "Rehab" singer

Fans of the late British soul singer Amy Winehouse, whose body was found on Saturday, have created a shrine of flowers outside her house in north London.

Police have refused to speculate on how she died and are waiting for a post mortem, likely to be conducted sometime today. However the singer’s struggle with alcohol and drug addiction was well known.

Hilary Fox, entertainment writer said:

“Amy Winehouse was 27 when she died which unfortunately puts her in a club with a lot of other music stars who died at the same age like Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix.”

Winehouse’s untimely death has sent her fans rushing to download her music in remembrance. Her remarkable voice and original songs made her one of Britain’s leading talents. Her “Back to Black” album won her five Grammy awards in the US.

Her family say they have been left bereft by her death.
