Polish storms turn deadly


Thunderstorms in central and north-eastern Poland have claimed one life and injured several people.

A 30-year-old woman at home was crushed by the roof. The wind also ripped roofs off. Thousands of homes lost power.

Several people were hurt by falling trees in a campsite in Poland’s north-eastern lake district and in the capital Warsaw, flooding became serious.

More storms are forecast.
