Mexican archaeologists have found two millennia-old sculptures in the southern Chiapas state which they say could shed new light on the ancient Maya culture.

And further north, in Morelos state, another dramatic discovery was recently made: a monolith dating back to the 8th century in the shape of an Aztec God.
