Europe Weekly: roaming, GM, body scanners!

Consumer and health issues dominate this week’s issue of Europe Weekly. We take a look at new EU food labelling rules backed by MEPs. The changes aim to provide more information for shoppers about the produce they buy.

We also go to a field in Flanders full of genetically modified potatoes after the European Parliament said it is for individual EU countries to decide if they want to ban GM crops.

Mobile phone companies are also in the EU’s sites.

The European Commission wants to force them to slash roaming charges when people use their mobile phones overseas. Finally, we take a look at airport body scanners after MEPs gave the go ahead for their use in Europe’s airports. That’s this week in Europe Weekly.
