Djokovic beats Nadal to clinch Wimbledon title

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic held his nerve to defeat top seed Rafael Nadal in four sets 6-4 6-1 1-6 6-3 and clinch the Wimbledon title on Sunday.

The 24 year old produced a superb display to take the first two sets before reigning champion Nadal showed just why he had won his last 20 matches here as he stormed back to take the third.

However this was little more than a blip for the new world number one Djokovic who traded breaks with his opponent at the start of the fourth set before seizing the momentum again and closing out the contest for his first Wimbledon title.
